In spring 2024 Nordic West Office conducted a report to look into the following questions:

• Is Finland and Sweden’s membership in NATO a watershed moment?

• What should the two countries do together to improve their competitiveness, resilience and their international standing? 

The report is based on interviews with CEOs and Chairs of leading Finnish and Swedish businesses.

It was used as background material for a business leaders’ meeting that took place during President Stubb’s state visit to Sweden in April 2024. 

The report presents concrete recommendations for how to improve the competitiveness of Finland and Sweden through cooperation, intended as a starting point for further discussions.
